COMMERCIAL PHOTOGRAPHY
Since 1986, Lorcan has been working with many leading companies such as Bank of Ireland, Esso Ireland, Ulster Bank, Douglas Newman Good Estate Agents and Jaguar Ireland, just to mention a few.
In the education and rehabilitation area, Lorcan has been serving Mount Anville Senior School and The National Rehabilitation Hospital for many years, as well as many leading Solicitor firms.
Lorcan caters for both location and studio photography and his gentle non-obtrusive manner has proved invaluable whilst exercising a healthy respect for client sensitivity and confidentiality.
On location, commissions cover brochure and web photography, architectural, staff groups, award presentations, product launches, and selected corporate functions.
His new purpose built studio caters for both high quality product photography as well as professional corporate portraiture.
LEGAL PHOTOGRAPHY
In 1986, Lorcan Brereton established his portrait studio business, just 6 miles south of Dublin on Kill Lane, Foxrock, Dublin 18.
To date, Lorcan Brereton Photography has provided legal photographic files for over 350 client cases serving over 20 solicitor's practices, Architects and engineers, both in Dublin and countrywide.
In September 2001, Lorcan's wife Joan (Nee Meade) joined the business to assist with its expanding demands. Joan, a Senior Occupational Therapist took this opportunity as a career break having worked 17 years between the Richmond, Beaumont and Cappagh Hospital. The combination of her medical expertise and photographic knowledge has been invaluable with clients in the studio.
Most cases involve the photographic recording of personal injuries, which are taken in strict confidence with care and sensitivity in the privacy of their purpose built professional photographic studio. Clients are invited to bring a friend or family member along to accompany them for the photo session.
The professional lighting used in the studio and quality equipment utilised for close up work is unmatched for optimum detail. For pre-consultation and subsequent court purposes, most images are printed 6"x4", referenced and presented in multiple sets of photographic files for easy viewing and comparison purposes. Negatives are carefully filed indefinitely for future court retrieval.
Costs vary with case detail, however an average cost for studio session, film, development including five sets of print referenced photo files would be in the region of €280.00 plus vat.
In 2003 Lorcan & Joan expanded their existing business by building a new purpose built, state of the art photographic studio complete with reception and photo gallery. The new studio caters for very large groups as well as commercial photography. Its ground level design is fully wheelchair accessible, incorporating a wheelchair accessible toilet and changing room. AWARDS
Back in 1989, Lorcan joined the Irish Professional Photographers Association and was upgraded to Licentiate member in 1992 and since then, has won over 70 Gold, Silver and Bronze awards through the IPPA for both his studio and location work.
May 2000 saw Lorcan elected as Vice President of the IPPA and served his two-year term of office.
In April 2001, Lorcan achieved the internationally recognized Associateship Award of the IPPA (AIPPA), one of only a few photographers in Ireland to have this award.
In January 2001 he won Ist place in the ESB Environmental Photography Professional Category Awards, he also had some of his award winning images tour nationwide in the Royal Sun Alliance/IPPA National Exhibition.
In November 2001, one of his images was awarded a certificate and inclusion in the first ever Masterpiece Awards Collection sponsored by Fuji Ireland.
In January 2004, Lorcan won third place in the ESB Environmental Photography Category Awards receiving a cheque and framed certificate.
